Already have a diamond? Let us set it for you! Whether you have an independently-sourced or heirloom gemstone you want to use for your engagement ring, diamond setting / re-setting could be the perfect solution for you. Keep reading to learn more.
Having your diamond set into a designer DANA WALDEN engagement ring setting is one way to refresh the look of an outdated heirloom ring or upgrade an old ring in the event of an anniversary or vow renewal celebration. Putting your pre-purchased or heirloom gems into a DANA WALDEN engagement ring setting gets you a one of a kind designer ring at an out-of-pocket price that is considerably lower than than buying a finished ring (with gems included) from our catalog. Keep in mind that cost can be impacted by choosing a setting with additional diamonds in the setting (i.e. pave setting) versus going from a yellow gold all-metal setting to a white gold all-metal setting. Rest assured that Dana & Rad will be 100% transparent with you at all times regarding prices and costs before they get started on any diamond setting/re-setting work.
DANA WALDEN Diamond Re-Setting Services are perfect for:
- ...folks who have independently sourced or purchased a loose diamond or gemstone from a vendor of their choice.
- ...clients who have an heirloom gemstone that is loose or set in an old piece of jewelry, and would like to re-set that gem.
(Of course, it's worth noting that DANA WALDEN offers Custom Diamond Sourcing and Custom Gemstone Sourcing as a service. Custom gemstone sourcing is complimentary for all custom clients; learn more about our Custom Design Process here.)
Whether you just want to move an heirloom diamond into a setting that better suits your everyday style or you just got an amazing deal on a loose gem that you love, DANA WALDEN Diamond Resetting is a creative solution to keep in mind. Types of settings include:
- & More
There are so many design alternatives to explore, whether it's 4-prong or 6-prong settings, prongs vs. bezel settings, clawed prongs or split-claw prongs, and more. So, do your research and feel free to ask Dana & Rad for guidance.
If you're reading this, chances are you've already fallen in love with a DANA WALDEN setting that you like, but if not, you can Explore All DANA WALDEN Settings here. Prices vary based on design; please confirm up-to-date pricing with Dana & Rad and rest assured that pricing will be confirmed before the project begins.
Once you've selected a setting for your engagement ring redo, Dana & Rad will do a professional inspection of your diamond to confirm it's quality and viability before starting any work; this will include a review of any relevant certification paperwork. If the inspection reveals issues with the gem (cracks or chips, for example), the designers will inform you right away. Please note, the designers reserve the right to respectfully decline to move further in the process with any gem they might deem too risky to move to or place into a new setting. (Again, keep in mind that DANA WALDEN does have an amazing gem library and that we do offer custom diamond and gemstone sourcing if you'd like to change the trajectory of your project.)
Once your independently-sourced or heirloom diamond passes inspection, the gem is then expertly placed into the DANA WALDEN setting of your choice. The setting will be ethically handmade to order and built to the specifications of your particular gemstone.
The Diamond Setting and Resetting Process can be initiated with an in-person or virtual consultation, so you don't have to be in the New York City area to get started. Go ahead and review our Set Your Own Diamond page and use the form at the bottom of that page to make a formal inquiry.
